This 58mm funnel is designed for the Baratza Sette 270/270Wi coffee grinder. If you have experienced the problem of ground coffee not ending up entirely in the portafilter basket, resulting in a messy surrounding, this product is the solution for you. The funnel ensures that the ground coffee is efficiently directed into the portafilter, minimizing the spread and mess.
It's important to note that this funnel does not interfere with the scale function of the 270Wi, so your weight measurements will remain accurate. The portafilter shown is for demonstration purposes only, and is not included in the purchase; you are only acquiring the funnel itself.
According to the designer, the root cause of the ground coffee spreading mess is the static charge that can build up when the beans are very dry. The grinding process can statically charge the ground coffee, causing it to spread and stick to various surfaces. However, with the use of this funnel, this issue is no longer a problem.
To further mitigate the static charge and reduce the mess, the designer suggests adding a few drops of water to the beans in the hopper. This simple trick can significantly reduce the static charging, making the grinding process cleaner and more efficient.
The funnel is 3D-printed, which means you may be able to feel the layer lines created by the printing process. However, this will not affect the functionality of the product, and it will still work great.
